How Avanti Research Supports Discovery and Innovation For more than fifty years, Avanti Research™ has stood beside scientists at the leading edge of lipid discovery. From the earliest studies of membrane composition to today’s complex applications in lipidomics and delivery science, researchers have trusted us for the precision, reproducibility, and expertise that enable meaningful results. This session will explore how Avanti Research serves the global research community by providing high-purity lipid standards, functionalized lipids, and innovative tools designed to make complex experiments more reliable and insightful. Our team will discuss how our rigorous quality standards and specialized technical support empower researchers across disciplines, from structural biology and membrane biophysics to systems lipidomics and analytical chemistry. We’ll share how our collaborative approach goes beyond supplying materials. Every product, from SPLASH™ lipidomics standards to click-ready PEG lipids and fluorescent probes, is built on decades of experience in supporting academic and industrial research programs. Our goal is to help scientists build reproducible systems, generate high-confidence data, and move their ideas forward faster. As part of Croda Pharma, Avanti Research remains dedicated to advancing discovery while offering a pathway to development. While our focus is on enabling foundational and applied research, our extended capabilities now provide continuity into GMP manufacturing to advance translational therapeutic applications. This integration ensures that the Avanti standards of purity, performance, and documentation continue from the first experiment through scale-up. To complement this overview, two invited guest researchers will give brief talks highlighting how Avanti Research’s products have supported their work. Their perspectives will showcase the diversity of scientific inquiry made possible through dependable lipid tools and collaborative partnerships. A live Q&A session will follow, creating an open forum for discussion among attendees, our team, and our guest speakers. Together, we’ll address practical challenges in lipid research, share insights into new analytical and formulation techniques, and explore where the next breakthroughs in lipid science may come from. Expanding the Boundaries of Nanoscopy with Leica TauSTED Xtend: Enhanced Detection for Deep and Gentle Imaging Stimulated Emission Depletion (STED) microscopy has transformed nanoscale imaging by enabling visualization of subcellular structures beyond the diffraction limit. Yet, the challenge of achieving high-resolution imaging deep within living samples—while minimizing phototoxicity—remains a critical barrier. Leica’s STELLARIS TauSTED Xtend introduces a paradigm shift in super-resolution microscopy by harnessing fluorescence lifetime-based information and photon-efficient strategies to deliver gentle, high-quality imaging over extended time periods. TauSTED Xtend transcends the limitations of traditional intensity-based and gated STED approaches, offering superior resolution at significantly reduced light doses. This advancement is made possible through its synergy with the extended Power HyD detector family and STED white objectives featuring SmartCorr technology, which together enable researchers to probe biological structures in depth with unprecedented clarity and minimal light dose. In this presentation, we demonstrate how TauSTED Xtend facilitates long-term live-cell imaging using diverse fluorescent probes and labels, unlocking access to fast nanoscale dynamics of cellular processes such as signaling, gene expression, and protein trafficking. The integration of TauSTED Xtend into the STELLARIS confocal platform marks a major step forward in making nanoscopy more biologically relevant, empowering researchers to explore the living cell with unmatched precision and gentleness.
