ISS fluorescence division manufactures spec- trofluorometers for time-resolved and steady- state measurements; FLIM/FCS confocal microscopes; and upgrades for LSM micro- scopes.

The Journal of General Physiology’s mission is to publish mechanistic and quantitative molecular and cellular physiology of the high- est quality; to provide a best in class author experience; and to nurture future generations of independent researchers.

The Laboratory for Fluorescence Dynamics (LFD) is a national research resource center for biomedical fluorescence spectroscopy, sup- ported by the National Institute of Health (NIGMS) and the University of California, Irvine (UCI). Main activities: Services and Resources: state-of-the-art lab for fluorescence measure- ments, microscopy, spectroscopy. Research and Development: design, test, and imple- ment advances in the technology of hardware, software, biomedical applications. Training and Dissemination: disseminates knowledge of fluorescence spectroscopic principles, instrumentation, applications.

NEW 2018

JASCO will be exhibiting a range of bio- physical characterization tools including Circular Dichroism, Fluorescence and FTIR instrumentation. The JASCO J-1000 Series Spectrophotometers provide an optical bench specifically designed for high sensitivity mea- surements in the far- and near-UV regions. Temperature control systems can be coupled with multi-position cells to run thermal melts. Automated high-throughput CD can obtain measurements on up to 192 samples with- out user intervention, saving both time and money. Microsampling cells provide measure- ments on sample volumes as low as 2 micro- liters.

KEYENCE specializes in advanced digital micro- scopes for life science and industrial applica- tions. Capture optical sections, perform time- lapse studies, scan slides and well plates, analyze results.

Larodan makes a comprehensive range of research grade, high purity lipids for use as analytical standards in organic chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry and biophys- ics. Our customers are involved in academic research or industrial processes in a number of fields including agro, food, nutrition, cos- metics, biofuels, biotechnology, pharmaceu- ticals. Our products include all sorts of lipids, from simple fatty acids and methyl esters to complex glycerides, sphingolipids and phos- pholipids. We were founded in 1963 and our facilities are located at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.

KinTek is the world leader for the highest qual- ity state-of-the-art kinetic analysis. We offer premier research instruments supported by first-class service. At the meeting we will show our new Auto-Stopped-Flow with optional robotic sample loader, offering the highest signal using the smallest sample volumes, and our Rapid Chemical/Freeze-Quench-Flow instruments. New advances in KinTek Explorer software for dynamic simulation and fitting of kinetic data will be revealed – available for PC and Mac. See our Exhibitor Presentation on KinTek Explorer software.

The Journal of Biological Chemistry (JBC) pub- lishes papers based on original research that contributes to the understanding of molecular and cellular basis of biological processes. All accepted manuscripts are available to the public for free on the day of acceptance. The average time from submission to first decision is 21 days for regular articles and shorter for Accelerated Communications. The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology publishes JBC. Visit www. jbc.org/mission.
