Subgroups Channels, Receptors & Transporters The Channels, Receptors & Transporters (CRT) Subgroup is excited to announce its symposium at the 70th Biophysical Society Annual Meeting, to be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM in San Francisco, CA. This year’s program will feature exciting advances in the structure, function, and physiology of sensory and signaling proteins, with talks from Hua Tian (ShanghaiTech University), Eduardo Pérez (University of Chicago), Charles Cox (Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute), Josefina del Mármol (Harvard University), Thomas Voets (VIB Center for Brain & Disease Research), and Diana Bautista (University of California, Berkeley). Following the symposium, the Cole Award Dinner will be held at La Mar restaurant on the Embarcadero, where the Cole awardee will present a special lecture. And don’t miss out: CRT t-shirts are available for order online at https:/www.bio physics.org/subgroups/channels-receptors-transporters-1 —join us in style in San Francisco! — Juan Du , Chair Intrinsically Disordered Proteins Apply for the Intrinsically Disordered Proteins (IDP) Subgroup Postdoc Award by December 15. Up to two Postdoctoral Award winners will be selected in recognition of their research accomplishments during their postdoctoral career. Winners are invited to give an oral presentation at the IDP symposium and receive an honorarium. Women and other underrepre sented scientists at the postdoctoral stage are encouraged to apply. All postdoctoral fellows working in the intrinsically disordered proteins field are eligible. Your nomination packet should include: 1) a copy of the abstract submitted to the Biophysical Society Annual Meeting, including the BPS control number; 2) CV of the nominee; 3) a statement (maximum 300 words) summarizing the significance to the IDP community of the nominee’s work as a postdoc; 4) a short statement (maximum 100 words) explaining the difference from their graduate PhD work; and 5) a short statement (maximum 50 words) signed by a mentor or institution confirming current postdoctoral position (NOT a recommendation letter). Motility & Cytoskeleton The Motility & Cytoskeleton (M&C) Subgroup Symposium, will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in San Francisco, CA. Names for Student Research Achievement Award (SRAA) Poster Competition judges are due December 15. The Poster Competition will take place on Sunday evening, February 22, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Volunteer judges are needed to evaluate posters in the M&C Subgroup. Each will receive a free Subgroup dinner ticket as thanks. To volunteer, email the co-chairs (bcolson@arizona.edu and gekate@pennmedicine. upenn.edu). The M&C Subgroup Symposium will be on February 21 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The symposium will feature an excep tional speaker lineup (www.biophysics.org/2026meeting/ program/subgroup-saturday/motility-and-cytoskeleton) and student/postdoc flash talks selected from submitted ab stracts (TBD). Please register for the meeting and renew your Subgroup membership. New this year: the M&C Subgroup will have a dinner on Saturday evening during the Annual Meeting. Tickets will be $100 per person.
