Benjamin Franklin Medals The Franklin Institute invites nominations for Benjamin Franklin Medals, presented in the following disciplines of science and engineering: chemistry, civil and mechanical engineering, computer and cognitive science, earth and environmental science, electrical engineering, life science, and physics. Interdisciplinary awards will also be consid ered. Elisa U. Pardee Foundation Grants—Supporting Innovative Cancer Research These grants fund research directed toward identifying new treatments or cures for cancer. Projects are funded for a one-year period, which will allow for the establish ment of capabilities for new cancer researchers or new cancer approaches by established cancer researchers. What do you hope to accomplish in your career? I aspire to bridge advanced materials science and global health equity by developing dual-modal theranostic nanoparticles that combine persistent luminescence and magnetic properties for affordable and accessible cancer diagnosis and treatment, particularly in resource-limited settings where I have witnessed firsthand how technological barriers translate into preventable deaths.
