Grants & Opportunities AAAS Mentor Awards The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has two categories of Mentor Awards (Lifetime Mentor Award and Mentor Award). Both honor individuals who, during their careers, demonstrate extraordinary lead ership to increase the participation of underrepresented groups in science and engineering fields and careers. Both awards recognize an individual who has mentored and guided significant numbers of students from underrep resented groups to the completion of doctoral studies or who has impacted the climate of a department, college, or institution to significantly increase the diversity of students pursuing and completing doctoral studies. Who can apply: The award is open to all individuals, re gardless of nationality or citizenship, who have mentored students at a US institution. The Science and SciLifeLab Prize for Young Scientists This prize recognizes excellence among young research ers from around the world with the vision to recognize that global economic health is dependent upon a vibrant research community. This cycle’s categories are: Cell and Molecular Biology; Genomics, Proteomics, and Systems Biology approaches; Ecology and Environment; and Molec ular Medicine.
