We encourage you to nominate a junior colleague by sub- mitting the nominee’s CV and a brief statement (1,000-word maximum, written by the nominator) to motilitysubgroup@ gmail.com before the December 1, 2019, deadline. The winner will be announced in December and will be invited to give a talk at the Motility & Cytoskeleton Subgroup Sympo- sium on Saturday February 15, 2020, in San Diego. — Ahmet Yildiz and Michael Previs, Co-Chairs Mechanobiology Subgroup Announces the Establishment of the BPS Early Career Award inMechanobiology This award recognizes a young principal investigator who has made outstanding contributions to the way we understand how mechanics shape molecular and cellular processes. Membrane Fusion, Fission & Traffic Subgroup announces Dr. Richard W. Tsien of New York University Langone Medical Center as the recipient of the 2020 Sir Bernard Katz Award. Dr. Tsien will present an award lecture during the subgroup symposium in San Diego on February 15, 2020. — Ling-Gang Wu , Chair Membrane Transport Subgroup The Membrane Transport subgroup welcomes all members of BPS to join our symposium on Saturday afternoon, February 15, 2020, in San Diego. Our speaker line-up includes Osamu Nureki (U. Tokyo), Grace Brannigan (Rutgers U.), Randy Stock- bridge (U. Michigan), Katherine Henzler-Wildman (U. Wisconsin, Madison), and Jose Faraldo-Gomez (NIH).
