The best part is the interdisciplinary nature of structural biology research and the important role of collaborations, which can help solve the pieces of the puzzle to reveal atomic details of the crucial macromolecules underpinning life. Valuable life lessons can be learned by doing a PhD. I amnow avidly optimistic, embrace failures as stepping stones to success, and firmly believe in teamwork, which are all crucial for having a productive lifestyle.
