Special Issue: Modeling Biology at Multiple Scales: From Macromole cules to Cells, Dedicated to Jie Liang Call for Papers
Editors:
Ao Ma, University of Illinois Chicago Ruth Nussinov, National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health Jianhan Chen, University of Massachusetts Amherst Jianhua Xing, University of Pittsburgh
This special issue is dedicated to the memory of Jie Liang, a brilliant scientist who made import ant contributions across diverse fields in biophysics, from proteins to chromosomes to cells. His work was characterized by an innovative computational approach and was often performed in close collaboration with experimental colleagues. To honor his legacy and reflect the breadth of his impact, we welcome submissions on studying biolog ical systems and processes across all spatial and temporal scales, including but not limited to proteins, nucleic acids, chromosomes, cellular reaction networks, and cells. Submissions may involve modeling, simulation, and/or experimental approaches. We also encourage perspective or review articles on these topics. If you are interested, please contact the editors, Ao Ma (aoma@uic.edu) and Jianhua Xing (xing1@pitt.edu).
Deadline for submission: November 30, 2025
• Instructions for authors can be found at: https:/www.cell.com/biophysj/authors. • Please include a cover letter stating that you would like to contribute to the Modeling Biology at Multiple Scales special issue and please describe why the work fits into the issue. • Normal publishing charges will apply. • Questions can be addressed to the BJ Editorial Office at BJ@biophysics.org or to (240) 290-5600.
