Biophysicists Finding Balance: Mother’s Day 2017

Q: What has been your favorite course while studying biophysics? Why?

My favorite course was called Introduc- tory Quantitative Physiology as it was my first exposure to the field of biophysics and physiology. This course provided me with the knowledge needed to start understanding scientific literature and led me to seek out undergraduate research in physiology. The second to last sentence should have read as follows: They found that, during a typical spark in a frog twitch fiber under physiological conditions, about 20,000 calcium ions are released in about 4 ms, probably from 2-4 active channels (16°C).

May 14 was Mother’s Day in the United States.
