Career Development Center Workshop Engaging with Employers at Career Fairs, Info Sessions, Scholarly Meetings and other Similar Opportunities 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Room 409B Grad students, PhDs, and postdocs often have the chance to meet with employers who visit their campus for career fairs, info sessions, etc. This workshop would focus on how to best prepare to leverage these oppor tunities, build relationships and follow up after the event. It would be particularly of value for int’l scholars who often do not understand the need to promote their credentials and capabilities in a positive manner. Undergraduate Poster Award Competition (UPAC) 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm, West Lobby Foyer at Entrance Come meet undergraduates and learn about their research projects. Undergraduates presenting as first or second author on a poster are invited to participate to enhance their presentation skills, receive encouraging feedback, and gain recognition for their hard work in a sup portive environment. The 10 students with the best overall presentations will be awarded $100 and will be recognized during the 2025 Biophysical Society Lecture and Awards Ceremony. These students will be selected based on the quality and scientific merit of their research, knowledge of the research problem, contribution to the project, and overall presentation of the poster. Students competing in the competition had to have been registered and confirmed prior to arrival at the meeting.

If this is your first time attending a BPS Annual Meeting, you may find it helpful to speak to Society staff and committee members who can help you get the most out of your time at the BPS 2025 Los Angeles Annual Meeting. Opening Mixer 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Concourse Foyer All registered attendees are welcome to attend this reception. Cash bar and light refreshments will be offered. During this reception, travel award winners will be honored for their achievement and presented with their travel awards. Awardees will have the opportunity to network with their peers and members of the Education, Early Careers, Inclusion and Diversity, Membership, and Professional Opportunities for Women Committees.
