These 10-min ute talks (between three and five of them) will be selected from Cryo-EM Subgroup member abstracts submitted for the main Biophysical Society Meeting and are a great way to highlight recent work for graduate students and postdocs! We are also pleased to call for nominations for the June Almeida Award for Mid/Senior-Career Women in Cryo-EM. The nomination deadline is November 14, 2025, and details on eligibility and nomination requirements can be found at www.biophysics.org/Awards-Funding/Subgroup-Awards. Previously submitted unsuccessful nominations are welcome to be resubmitted. The award will be presented at the Cryo EM Subgroup Symposium on Saturday, February 21, 2026. Lastly, we will host a Cryo-EM Subgroup dinner, which is always an exciting evening and a highlight of the meeting. Tickets are limited and can be purchased for $30 when you register for the BPS Annual Meeting. Further details about the dinner also will be distributed to the Cryo-EM Subgroup membership shortly. — Liz Kellogg , Chair — Ed Eng , Secretary/Treasurer — Yi-Wei Chang , Chair-Elect Biopolymers in Vivo The officers of the Biopolymers in Vivo (BIV) Subgroup have been working diligently to prepare for the Subgroup’s 15th symposium at the BPS Annual Meeting in San Francisco, CA. The Saturday afternoon event will have a European flair with speakers from Denmark, Germany, and The Netherlands, in addition to the United States. The Subgroup will then gather for a dinner celebration at Burma Love, a 12-minute walk from the Moscone Center where the Annual Meeting will take place. BIV dinner tickets must be purchased in advance from BPS for $70, or $35 for student members. — Daryl Eggers , Chair Membrane Transport The leadership of the Membrane Transport Subgroup is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the Chris Miller Award, a prestigious honor recognizing outstanding contributions to the field of membrane transport. This award honors researchers whose exceptional scientific achieve ments and dedicated service have significantly advanced the field. The nomination deadline is October 15, 2025. The award and the accompanying lecture will be presented at the Membrane Transport Subgroup Symposium during the Biophysical Society Annual Meeting on February 21, 2026. — Seok-Yong Lee , Chair Physical Cell Biology The Physical Cell Biology Subgroup is soliciting nominations for two awards, an Early Career Award for postdoctoral re searchers or pre-tenure principal investigators and a Student Award for PhD students. The awardees will receive $500 in prize money and will present their work at the Subgroup Sym posium on February 21, 2026, during the BPS Annual Meet ing. Please send nominations by November 15, 2025 to the Subgroup Chair, Qiong Yang (qiongy@umich.edu), and Program Chair, Robin Lee (robinlee@pitt.edu), with the subject “Physical Cell Subgroup Award for Early Career Scientist” or “Physical Cell Subgroup Award for Students.” Self-nominations are accepted. Abstracts not selected for a talk during the BPS Annual Meeting will have the chance to be se lected for a presentation during our Annual Virtual Network ing Event in fall 2026 (more information to be announced). — Qiong Yang , Chair — Robin Lee , Program Chair — Yun Chen , Chair-Elect The Biological Fluorescence Subgroup is now accepting nominations for three awards that celebrate excellence in fluorescence research across career stages: the Gregorio Weber Award for Excellence in Fluorescence Theory and Ap plications, for senior researchers (full professor or equivalent); the Young Fluorescence Investigator Award, for pre-tenure faculty or junior-level investigators; and the Student Award in Biological Fluorescence, for graduate students or early-ca reer researchers within three years of completing their PhD.
